Today I am closing the Italian Louisa dress blog tour: Compagnie M translated in Italian one of her most popular pattern and chosen some of Italian bloggers to present it. I was in good company with Dotta – My cute sewing – Mamma190 – Mademoiselle Chouchou – Mammacraft – Paunnet.
The pattern comes with three variations. I made the simple one, with just one main fabric. According to the size charts I choose the size 2 years. It fits really well, so even if it was intended to be a summer dress, I think I will layer it and start to wear it soon. I did some minor changes to the original pattern: I have shortened the sleeves and the length of the dress, because I like her chubby knees so much. For the lining, since it is a summer dress, I lined just the bodice.
The pattern’s instructions are well written and well translated, so I didn’t have any “what???!!!” moment. I love the A line of this dress, I usually choose gathered skirt for my daughter, but this dress surprised me for its simplicity and its style.
The fabric and the lining are both quilting cottons I bought in the States. I used the lining fabric to make myself the piping for the pocket. It was the first time, but with Compagnie M tutorial it was quite easy. Now I want to use all my scratches to do piping!
The Louisa dress has already a special place in my daughter’s wardrobe and in my heart: it is the dress with grandma name (my mom). And moreover it has spectacular pockets where to hide everything! I can definitely see that it is a pattern made by a mom.
So now it is your turn to sew a Louisa. You can find it in Compagnie M shop, and you have 10% discount with the code LOUISA-INTRO until today. So be fast and grab one!!!!
Ma é bellissimo! Che brava sei!
