My personal sewing mojo was going really slow in the last few months, but when Celina from Petit a Petit & family called for testers for her latest pattern, I couldn’t resist. I love her designs, so modern and easy.
The Tip pattern is a “flowy and loose fitting top, tunic and dress, perfect for twirling and is extra comfortable to wear” as described by Celina. The pattern presents multiple variations: 3 different lengths, 2 neckline options, single or double sleeves, side seam or welt pockets for the dress, hem facings or rolled hem option, front and back panels for color blocking. So it is plenty of possibilities.
I made the dress version with back and front panels, with side seam pockets and elastic neckline. Size is 3 years.
Since it was a test, I didn’t make any modifications to the pattern. The fit is perfect. The sewing process was easy, the pattern is classified as confident beginner. The only part that took me a bit of time was to add the bias binding to the neckline, but this was because I have chosen a too wide bias binding.
The fabric is from a local store. It is a replica of a liberty print, but I doubt is an original one :) I like its 70’s vibe.
The Tip pattern was released yesterday and it will be on sale for the next two weeks.
