Packing tips

Lately I am thinking about my packing habits and how they changed through the years. Before I was packing a lot of clothes, wearing half of them during the vacation and coming back telling myself “next time I will just bring with me a t-shirt and a pair of shorts”…It never happened. What changed radically my way of packing was having kids! But you don’t have to. There are few tips you can easily follow to pack in a more rational and smart way.

1. Check the weather of your final destination and make a list of the main activities you plan to do there (i.e. staying all day at the beach, hiking, sightseeing, etc.).

2. Choose a color palette, usually some neutrals that can be mixed together easily, and one or two accent colors.

3. Plan some outfits on the basis of point 1 and 2. I usually love the mix and match concept here, so I can pack few items but have a variety of outfits.

4. Add shoes and accessories.

In the pictures you can see Β an exemple for a long week end at the seaside: the neutral palette is jeans, blue and white and the accent colors are yellow mustard and red. Most of the items can be mix and match easily.
